It’s hard to understand what one hour would feel like enduring such a bleak existence but add to that the constant battle to hold off the darkness that would turn them into vampires and ultimately become the very thing they’ve spent centureies hunting and it’s pretty easy to say that it has to suck being a Carpathian male.
I would imagine that it would make it even more difficult for someone, who has always appeared strong, to let down that guard and appear what they feel is weak.

What makes each story unique, in my mind, are the dynamics between the starring couple and what background and experience they bring to the story. The moon was a friend, the stars often guiding lights he navigated by. This series is a perfect example of how a series could evolve in a good way there are so many examples out there of a bad evolution in a series and while I stopped reading those, I’m sticking with this one for the time being.
